Precision Building & Renovating is a family owned and operated LLC founded in 2007 by James and Kyndra Light in Tallahassee, FL. They see their business as not just a means of living, but enjoyment of craftsmanship and vehicle of service to the community. Their vision is to lead Precision Building into the next wave of the construction industry by tackling issues of affordable housing and environmental sustainability using new technologies and community partnerships.
James and Kyndra have four children that they are proud to raise in the beautiful Tallahassee community. Locally, the Light family loves cheering on the 'Noles and enjoying the outdoors.
If you speak with their clients, the most common statement that you hear is that they were treated like family; that their home was worked on as if it belonged to James and Kyndra. No matter what the size and scope of the job, when you call Precision Building, you can expect to work with them personally to find the best plan and affordable pricing for your project. Precision Building and Renovating runs their job sites with integrity. It is their policy to carefully vet each person, including subcontractors, working on their projects. Precision Building is an active presence in community service sectors.

Kyndra has a keen eye for design and lends creative solutions for projects without pause. In addition, she possesses brilliant attention to detail and unique skills in bringing people together for collaborative solutions. Kyndra is an advocate, not just within the company, but the industry, for a tolerant and diverse workplace and environmental responsibility. You will find her in a range of settings from working in the wood shop (she's a growing carpenter) to speaking at business events, volunteering for schools, and meeting with clients. No matter what the job, she jumps in with passion and excellence as a standard.

James Light
James has a unique talent for design and construction. He learned carpentry and the building trade at the hands of his father, a skilled craftsman in Tallahassee. After completing his B.A. in Business Administration, he knew that he wanted to be a part of building positive communities here is his home town. James wears all the hard hats from pulling permits, to working with planners, framing walls, and digging ditches. He believes in staying connected to each project, regardless of the size, and each client has the pleasure of meeting James and seeing his talent first-hand. In addition, James is passionate about working on innovative solutions to help communities find access to affordable housing. He is continually researching and traveling to meet with other think tanks throughout the country who are working on this important issue.
